Being consistent with your creativity & art practice

THE BEAUTY OF CONSISTENCY IN YOUR ACTIONS...

is that when you face something new, something uncomfortable & unexpected... (like a global pandemic, constant lockdowns, remote learning etc)

  • you can trust your capability to hold space for yourself.

  • you will find sparks of confidence in your capacity for more & growth

  • you can hold onto the promise within that it will still be there for you when you're ready to step back in...

it being: your art, your flow, your sense of joy & ease, your drive & motivation, your creativity....

I’m not talking about consistency as in perfection

F*ck that!

I’m talking about finding a way to consistently come back to the path

I’m talking about finding something to focus on, so that even if you fall or get pushed or even get blinded by distractions...

you come back to your flow

I’m not talking about being a robot doing the same thing over and over

I’m talking about holding good faith & your eye on the bigger vision of soul aligned YES!

and choosing to move forward towards that

and learning & adapting & growing towards that

and deciding to come back to that again & again

Like love

No matter how much shit you have to clean up

No matter how scary or hair-pullingly, screamingly frustrating they are...

No matter how much you so very much DO NOT LIKE THIS RIGHT NOW

You love whom you love and it becomes your centre of calm & focus.

And you do what it takes, no matter how uncomfortable & annoyingly & inconvenient & humbling & scary

To find your way back to flow again

I know we know this about consistency. It’s almost a treasure we all seek.

“How do we show up consistently?” we plead...

“When life is so crazy/uncertain/busy?”

Or “but it’s so boring, doing the same thing over and over”

Or “it’s so hard to keep up”

Or “I keep failing & I hate starting over again”

Or “ maybe it’s too late”

What if you already are consistent in your life now — even as Resistance shames you otherwise?

What if you already have the tools & strength & ability to show up the way you desire?

What if you’re allowed to do it simply & easily AND imperfectly?

What if consistency is just seeing that as long as you keep moving forward (even after you fell backwards a bit) IS YOUR CONSISTENCY

And that it IS ‘perfect’ as it is?

That it's helping you build up muscles of tenacity and resilience and strength you need for your next chapter

What if, instead of wasting your limited and valuable energy & attention on guilt & shame around how “inconsistent” you are...(which is really just a mask from the enemy about how “imperfect” you are)

You use it to learn what you have been given to learn

You pick yourself back up

You embrace imperfection

You CHOOSE your dream & take ONE step forward

Yes, there is some discipline involved

Yes, there is some habit & action changes to come

(THIS is a big part of how I support my Muse Momentum clients)

But the biggest discipline as a creative & Muse is to keep your eye on your work.

And less on your feelings of inadequacy.

To see the progress you have made WHILE noting the patterns of sabotage or resistance blocking your way.

To choose to pick yourself back up consistently instead of waiting for confidence & clarity & certainty about the path ahead.

This mindset shift is a practice

This way of seeing is a choice — one to be made daily sometimes (it will be part of your consistency practice!)

AND

your confidence in your work

your daring to step boldly in your art

your fullness of expression in your creativity

will be found as you walk this path.
